My boy...the boxer and NEW TEETH!
Since Rubin is in Tampa for work all week it's just me and the kid. He is already sick of me. He just sits there looking forlorn saying Dada. Poor him. We went to the mall today with his little buddy Julius and I discovered that my son likes to hit. He just walked up and smacked the crap out of poor little Jules. Jules thought it was funny and hit him back...much to my chagrin. The rest of the day was spent holding down monkey boy's hands as he attempted to assault his friend. All I can do is just grab his hands and say "No hitting...gentle". I hope to god he cuts this out at daycare when he starts. Maybe they will straighten out his little bully butt. He has gotten his top canines...haha! He is so cute with his little fangs. The bottom ones are coming in now...so soon it will be goodbye hippopotamus teeth. Sad for me. I like hippo teeth. He has the most beautiful smile. I noticed also that he hasn't said Mama in like, 3 days. He has, however, taken to calling me Caca. Great. Well...that's what I get for calling him poop-butt I guess.

The picture that makes me laugh out loud

In an ill-advised attempt at doing something other than cowering in fear of the giant ball of fire in the sky Monkey and I went to Winter Park today. We strolled along the promenade and looked at well-fed birds and squirrels and under-fed women. This pic was taken about 3 seconds before I decided we were both in danger of dying from exposure and I yanked all his clothes off and gave him some water. If I were more comfortable in my own skin we would have both been in our underwear in that fountain. Seriously. I have looked at this picture many times today and I can't look at it without smiling. Several times I have caught myself in reverie giggling about how great the boy is. Now you can too!

MAMA'S DAY!

I sure do love the one of him and his father. HE IS SO SHORT!!! :) We had a wonderful mother's day! We went to my aunt and uncle's house and they created a WONDERFUL brunch! They also gave him a kiddie pool and a beach ball and a Pooh-Bear that spins and sprinkles water. He had a BLAST playing in the yard. There were two incidents of tantrum insanity...one of which was recorded for posterity on my mother's camera. I'll have to get the pic from her to post. It is funny, he's writhing around the kitchen floor while everyone ignores him. Poor little guy.

Sorry it has been so long
Thanks to my dad I have been able to take off 3 months from work before we move for school so I can spend time with my little monkey! I am thrilled! I can't tell you how much it means to me...and I can't tell you how scary it is! It is hard to entertain that little boy! He has been keeping me busy trying to say "thank you" and "I love you" and hugging everyone. He was at the Spanish day care for a while where they called him Debbie. While I don't want to mention his real name lets just say that it is not Debbie. He did love them though and cried every time we took him home...yup..that's a heartbreaker. But we are doing good and getting used to each other! He stacked 3 little blocks on top of each other today. You know his focus on what he wants to learn is incredible. We took him to the park a couple of weeks ago and he found an incline and he walked up and down the incline for an hour. He was just learning the physics of it. He is doing the same thing with stairs now. My mom just gave me a great pair of cross trainers and I hope to take him running in the park. I will try to write again soon and not be a lazy ass.

Bugs Bunny teeth!
My little man is getting his top left tooth...much to his disappointment. He is very unhappy about this new development. He's getting up and crying at night and dwelling in a general feeling of malaise. It is however punctuated by moments of cheerful brilliance. We went to the Thai festival this weekend. In January we took him to the temple and he farted on a monk. Monks have a tendency to understand such things. This year Little Man saw Thai Dancers and lots of people that he did not fart on this time. We consider this an improvement.
